Call 0415 690 566My 4WD sags at the back with the camper on. Will new springs fix it?
Usually yes. Sagging under load means the spring rate is too light for what you are carrying. Load rated Dobinsons springs are built exactly for this and we will match the rate to your setup.
Coil or leaf, which does my vehicle have?
Most touring wagons run coils all round, and most utes run coils at the front with leaf springs at the back. If you are not sure, tell us what you drive and we will sort it out.
Can I raise my 4WD with springs alone?
To a point, and Dobinsons make raised height springs for most popular 4WDs. If you are chasing real height it is better done as a matched lift kit so the shocks suit the new travel.
Do you replace bushes and U-bolts with new leaf springs?
Yes. New U-bolts are standard practice on a leaf spring job and we replace worn bushes, pins and shackles while everything is apart. It is cheaper than doing it twice.
Should I replace shocks at the same time as springs?
If the shocks have some age in them it is usually worth doing both together. The parts work as a matched pair and you save on labour. We will inspect yours and tell you honestly if they are worth keeping.
