Common signs are a floaty or bouncy ride, nose diving under brakes, uneven tyre wear, and oil leaking down the shock body. If you are not sure, we can inspect them and give you a straight answer.
Which Dobinsons shocks are right for my 4WD?
It depends on load and use. A daily driven HiLux needs a different shock to a loaded touring LandCruiser. We match the shock to the job rather than to what is easiest to get.
Do I need to replace all four at once?
Replace them in pairs at minimum, front or rear, so both sides behave the same. If they are all of similar age it is usually worth doing the set while it is on the hoist.
Do you do a wheel alignment after fitting shocks?
Yes, every suspension job at Cairns Auto Works is finished with a wheel alignment.
